Deja Vu Audio

    The Cabinet.
Handcrafted in adequately aged birch-tree plywood, assembled by natural glue. Screws are used for the internal reinforcement only, intended to tune the residual vibration modes. Standard finish is natural Italian walnut. Other finishes (cherry, maple, rosewood) available as special order and longer delivery time. Absorbent material is felt. The bass frequency tuning is the classic Jensen, dated back more then half century ago, used by the Japanese firm Onken, become since 1994 our preferred tuning system for the top systems. Midrange and high frequency drivers are suspended above the top of the bass cabinet by a customised version of our patented magnetic isolation system "Relaxa"

    The speakers.
The woofer is a 12", aluminium die cast basket, cloth surround, paper cone, copper moving coil. The moving mass is 54 grams, the sensitiveness is 99dB 1W @ 1m. The midrange driver is 1" with aluminium diaphragm and neodymium magnet. The mid frequencies horn is an asymmetric directional control type made out of two solid block of hard wood CNC machined and hand finished. The driver diaphragm works in open air. The sensitiveness is 102dB 1W @ 1m. The super tweeter has a Neodimium magnet and titanium diaphragm, its high frequency response is more than one octave above the audible threshold. It has a "bullet tweeter" dispersion characteristic. Its position against the midrange horn has been longly studied and it is inserted in the midrange horn for the best phase alignment. The sensitiveness is 105dB 1W @ 1m. (J-2001 twin uses two 12" woofers in a bigger cabinet for 3 dBs higher efficiency)

    The crossover network.
The network is a 12 dB per octave type, hard wired and assembled on a composite board. There are many paper and oil capacitors and the others are double metallized polypropylene type, MIL Std. The coils are all air core coils. It's possible to tune the midrange and the high frequencies on three positions with 1.5 dB step by a resistors network. There is a bi-amplification connection available. All the resistances are metal oxide type, non inductive. The filter is suspended on the "Relaxa" basis as the mid and high speakers. There is a speaker basket ground termination available.

    The cables.
The woofer is wired via the CSP-1 coaxial (2.5 sqmm section) speakers cable. The midrange is wired via a double plait of solid core pure copper conductor (0.75 sqmm each). The tweeter is wired via a single plait of the same solid core conductor.

PLS. UNDERSTAND THAT ANY J-2001 PAIR MAY BE DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER. WE KEEP THE RIGHT TO SELECT - IN ANY MOMENT WE RECEIVE AN ORDER - THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF THE BEST AVAILABLE. THUS, DRIVERS MAY BE CHANGED OR THE CROSSOVER NETWORK MAY BE MODIFIED OR ANY OTHER DETAIL WE THINK CAN IMPROVE J-2001, MAY BE MODIFIED. WE WANT J-2001 TO BE ALWAYS THE REAL EXPRESSION OF OUR CAPACITY TO DESIGN "THE BEST" LOUDSPEAKERS SYSTEM.
